ORANJESTAD (AAN) – More than 60 crisis management colleagues from all Kingdom territories gathered from June 1 to 4 in The Hague for the 7th Caribbean Kingdom Crisis Management Week.
Participants exchanged knowledge and experiences while taking part in a crisis management exercise aimed at enhancing preparedness and fostering optimal collaboration in case of imminent crises.
The week began with discussions on local resilience and collaborative strategies, followed by a joint exercise simulating a tropical hurricane, “Lucas.” USAR representatives provided insights into emergency assistance capabilities. On June 3, participants visited the Landelijke Tactische Commando (LTC) of the Koninklijke Marechaussee to learn about the force’s role in Caribbean operations. Cyber resilience was a focus on the final day.
Daily sessions addressed current issues, and participants contributed to strategic planning for future crisis response, working toward common standards and professional competencies. The event was organized by the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations together with the Ministry of Justice and Security, including representatives from Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba, and collaborating organizations like KCR2 and USAR Netherlands.
