ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Renowned Aruban percussionist Carlos Bislip has announced the return of his Drumset and Percussion Camp 2026, an intensive educational program designed to inspire Aruba’s next generation of musicians.
First introduced in 2009, the camp has helped many young participants develop their musical talents, with several former students going on to become professional musicians and music educators in the United States and the Netherlands.
The 20-day program offers practical instruction in music theory, snare drum, drum set, Latin percussion and multi-pitch reading, while also helping participants develop teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and social skills.
The camp is supported by VNO, Het Cultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied, CEDE Aruba, Lotto pa Deporte, the Department of Culture and Cliffix Musical. A limited number of scholarships are available.
The 2026 camp will run from July 20 through August 14.
