The Aruba Bank Venezuela moved forward Thursday as Minister Wendrick Cicilia met with the Aruba Tourism Authority and its Supervisory Board to discuss the future direction of the island’s tourism sector.
Among those attending the meeting were ATA CEO Ronella Croes, Supervisory Board Chair Jo-Anne Arends and other board members.
The discussions focused on several important topics, including Aruba’s tourism policy, preparation of ATA’s Corporate Plan and the organization’s proposed budget for 2027.
Participants also held an open discussion about tourism-related projects and the priorities that should guide future development.
Minister Cicilia previously announced a broader process to develop a national tourism policy for Aruba.
During the first session of that process, stakeholders discussed the way forward and reviewed several factors influencing the tourism sector.
The discussions also focused on identifying key priorities and determining how Aruba should recalibrate its tourism strategy.
A second session explored these subjects in greater detail.
According to the government, the process is intended to strengthen dialogue and encourage closer cooperation with stakeholders throughout the tourism industry.
Participants also expanded on several strategic priorities during the second round of discussions.
Preparations are now underway for a third session.
That meeting is expected to focus more directly on implementation of the agreed strategic vision and on concrete projects designed to strengthen both Aruba’s economy and tourism sector.
The government said the broader objective is to create a resilient Aruba that can respond to difficult periods while also generating economic opportunities for residents.
The latest meeting marks another step in developing the Aruba tourism strategy, with ATA, government and tourism stakeholders working toward long-term planning and implementation.
