International Youth Day Aruba was marked on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with Minister of Sports and Education Gerlien Croes delivering a message celebrating the energy, creativity, courage and vision of the island’s young people.
In his message, Croes emphasized that young people have an important role in Aruba’s development and that their ideas and voices deserve to be heard.
The minister told Aruba’s youth that their voices are valuable, their ideas matter and their future remains a priority.
Croes also expressed appreciation to everyone who works with and supports young people across the island.
He thanked them for their time, creativity, patience and dedication to helping Aruba’s younger generations develop and reach their potential.
Creating More Opportunities for Youth
The minister called for continued efforts to open doors and create opportunities that allow young people to participate more actively in society.
According to Croes, when young people contribute to Aruba, the entire community moves forward.
