ORANJESTAD — SKOA says it is satisfied with its 2025-2026 school results and is ready for the start of Aruba’s new 2026–2027 academic year.
According to SKOA Interim Director Jessica Irausquin, preparations have been completed for the reopening of schools, and the organization considers the previous academic year successful based on its overall performance and results.
Irausquin said school-fee payments during the previous academic year were nearly complete. Payments for the 2026–2027 school year are also coming in satisfactorily.
Where necessary, some parents have arranged payment plans to help them meet their financial obligations.
80% of 5 MAVO Students Graduated
Academically, SKOA Reports highlighted the results achieved by students completing 5 MAVO.
According to Irausquin, an average of approximately 80% of 5 MAVO students graduated at the end of the 2025–2026 academic year, a result with which SKOA is particularly satisfied.
However, the organization also acknowledged that some young people left school prematurely for various reasons and consequently did not complete their education.
SKOA considers school dropout an area that requires continued attention. Encouraging more young people to complete their education can help improve their future educational and employment opportunities.
SKOA Ready for 2026–2027
With the new academic year beginning, SKOA has expressed confidence that cooperation among students, parents, teachers and other school personnel can build on the positive 2025-2026 school results.
The organization wished students, parents, teachers and staff success in the new school year and said its goal remains to provide students with opportunities to progress academically and achieve their educational goals.
