Aruba business confidence improved during the second quarter of 2026, with local companies showing a more positive outlook for economic conditions over the coming 12 months, according to the Central Bank of Aruba.
The Central Bank completed its Business Perception Survey for the second quarter of 2026, measuring how local businesses view current and future economic conditions.
The Business Perception Index, which combines assessments of current economic conditions and the short-term outlook, increased by 3.2 index points to 107.5.
The short-term economic conditions index rose by 4.7 points to 107.1, while the current economic conditions index increased by 1.8 points to 107.8.
More Businesses Expect Stable Growth
The percentage of surveyed businesses expecting economic growth to remain stable during the next 12 months increased by 13.5 percentage points to 56.4%.
At the same time, the share expecting negative economic growth fell by 14.3 percentage points to 0% during the second quarter.
The figures indicate that surveyed businesses became considerably more optimistic about Aruba’s near-term economic outlook.
Employment Expectations Also Improve
Businesses also reported stronger expectations for employment.
The percentage indicating employment growth increased by 2.4 percentage points to 53.9%.
Meanwhile, the share of businesses reporting a profit rose by 1.2 percentage points to 92.2%.
These results suggest that most participating businesses continued to report positive financial performance during the quarter.
Investment Activity Remains More Stable
Regarding short-term investment activity, 48.7% of surveyed businesses reported expecting no change.
That figure increased by 9.3 percentage points during the quarter.
For longer-term economic conditions, 48.7% of respondents expect Aruba’s inflation rate over the next 12 months to remain between 2% and 3%.
The latest survey shows that Aruba business confidence strengthened in Q2 2026, supported by improved expectations for growth, employment and profitability.
