This week, Chef Jeremy Ford and the team from Terra by Jeremy Ford participated in a planting initiative at The Bucuti Tara – GMC Nature Preserve. Located within the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, the preserve spans 130,000 square meters. The staff traded their culinary tools for shovels to plant native vegetation aimed at restoring the habitat for local fauna and supporting natural carbon capture.
The project represents the first step in a long-term commitment between Terra and the resort to restore Aruba’s natural landscape. The area, previously vulnerable to development, is now being revitalized to demonstrate how tourism can contribute to environmental restoration. This initiative aligns with the restaurant’s philosophy of giving back to the island that inspires its cuisine.
Terra was developed in collaboration with local partners Maurice and Karim Neme, third-generation pioneers in Aruba’s hospitality industry.
