ORANJESTAD, Aruba – The San Nicolas Pop-Up Market will return on Saturday, August 29, 2026, bringing local vendors, products, food, crafts and family activities back to Plaza Lolita as part of continued efforts to support entrepreneurship and economic activity in San Nicolas.
Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever announced another edition of the monthly market, which has become a platform where local entrepreneurs and producers can showcase and sell their products directly to residents and visitors.
The upcoming market will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Plaza Lolita in San Nicolas.
Organizers said the August edition will feature a variety of enthusiastic local vendors offering products and experiences for different age groups.
Visitors will be able to explore locally produced goods, arts and crafts, food and beverages while supporting small businesses and independent entrepreneurs.
Families will also find activities for children, including a Dino Jump, making the event suitable for visitors looking to spend part of their Saturday in San Nicolas.
Organizers are also preparing shaded seating areas where visitors can relax, eat and enjoy the atmosphere of the market.
According to Minister Wever, the San Nicolas Pop-Up Market serves several purposes beyond offering a weekend shopping experience.
He said the market helps stimulate Aruba’s local economy by providing entrepreneurs and producers with a visible platform where they can interact directly with potential customers.
Wever also described the market as an important step toward the future development of a new permanent market connected to the broader revitalization plans for San Nicolas.
The minister said he is encouraged by the growth seen with each edition and by the increasing support from members of the community.
According to Wever, local vendors benefit when residents and visitors actively choose to purchase locally made products and support businesses operating within the community.
The government’s support for the market forms part of the AVP-FUTURO Government Program, which includes priorities related to strengthening the primary sector and encouraging economic development in San Nicolas.
The initiative also fits within wider plans aimed at bringing more activity to the city center and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Regular events such as the San Nicolas Pop-Up Market can help bring additional visitors into the area, creating opportunities not only for participating vendors but also for other nearby businesses.
By attracting residents and tourists to Plaza Lolita, organizers hope the market contributes to a more active commercial environment while strengthening the connection between local producers and consumers.
The Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector is inviting both residents and visitors to attend the upcoming edition.
Organizers are encouraging the public to spend time in San Nicolas, discover locally made products and support the vendors participating in the market.
The August 29 edition will continue the monthly market concept while contributing to the longer-term goal of strengthening economic activity and community development in San Nicolas.
The event will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Plaza Lolita, with admission open to residents and visitors interested in supporting Aruba’s local entrepreneurs and enjoying a family-friendly Saturday market.
