ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Graduate Inspires Students With Master’s Success Story after Santiago Montemiranda proudly shared his achievement of earning a Master of Science in Innovation and Sustainable Business Development from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Norway, ten years after graduating from EPB Hato.
Montemiranda posted a photo holding his master’s diploma and shared his personal journey to encourage young people who may feel discouraged because of stereotypes surrounding vocational education. Reflecting on his time at EPB, he recalled hearing negative comments describing the school as one for “problem students” or suggesting its students were incapable of achieving more. He said those prejudices affected his motivation during his school years.
Despite those challenges, Montemiranda credited passionate teachers, especially Sabina Vrolijk, with encouraging him to keep moving forward instead of giving up. He explained that the road to higher education was long and challenging, but it proved that determination and perseverance can overcome negative perceptions.
His message quickly received support from students and graduates of both EPB and EPI, many of whom described him as one of the most intelligent and disciplined people they know. Montemiranda said he hopes his experience will inspire more young people to pursue their dreams regardless of the type of school they attend.
The Aruba Graduate Inspires Students With Master’s Success Story highlights the importance of resilience, quality education, and dedicated teachers in helping students achieve academic success. His accomplishment serves as a reminder that determination and hard work can open doors to higher education and international opportunities regardless of where a student’s educational journey begins.
