ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) held its annual sweet breakfast to honor the dedication and compassion of its Spiritual Care volunteers. Their commitment, presence, and support bring joy to staff and patients alike, offering care, attention, and human connection that positively impacts patient recovery.
This year, the volunteers gathered with an HOH team at Tapas Restaurant, Divi Links for a warm and enjoyable morning. The event included inspirational speeches and words of gratitude from HOH Board President Jacco Vroegop, a special poem presented by the Human Resources department, and other acknowledgments highlighting volunteers in the spotlight.
One excerpt from the emotional poem read:
“Our vision is care for all, without losing quality or dignity. You help us reach that vision not through large actions, but through small steps that carry great meaning. A quiet conversation. A reassuring presence. A moment of understanding that helps someone breathe a little easier.”
The breakfast concluded with delicious food, lively conversations, and a token of appreciation for each volunteer. Photographs captured the warmth and camaraderie of the gathering, emphasizing the real difference volunteers make in the lives of many at HOH.
HOH relies on a committed volunteer team who consistently brings care and support to the hospital community. Their contributions are invaluable, and this annual celebration reflects the gratitude and recognition they deserve.
