ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) welcomed an official delegation from the Department of Civil Aviation Aruba (DCA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Netherlands (CAA NL) to Queen Beatrix International Airport on June 10, 2026.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase Aruba Airport’s ongoing infrastructure investments, operational improvements, and future development plans under the Gateway 2030 expansion program.

During the visit, the delegation toured the airport’s new U.S. Check-In Hall, which opened in April 2025 as part of Gateway 2030 Phase 1A. The facility significantly enhances the passenger experience through increased check-in capacity, modernized processing areas, and improved operational efficiency.

The delegation also visited the airport’s Baggage Handling System (BHS), which is capable of processing up to 2,000 bags per hour and features advanced screening technology to improve baggage processing, security, and overall operational performance.

AAA further provided an update on Gateway 2030 Phase 1B and guided the delegation through the active construction area. The expansion project will introduce three new boarding bridges, three new bus gates, expanded waiting areas, and additional food, beverage, and retail options to improve the passenger experience and support future airport growth.

The visit concluded with an airside tour, giving the delegation a closer look at airport operations, infrastructure, and ongoing developments that support Aruba Airport’s long-term vision of providing a safe, efficient, and world-class travel experience.

AAA CEO Jonny Andersen stated that the visit offered an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and demonstrate the significant investments being made to prepare Aruba Airport for the future. He emphasized that Gateway 2030 is designed to modernize infrastructure, enhance the passenger experience, and support Aruba’s growing global connectivity.

The visit highlighted the strong collaboration between aviation authorities in Aruba and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as well as their shared commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, operational excellence, and passenger service throughout the aviation sector.
