ORANJESTAD (AAN): On April 18, 2026, Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) hosted an Open Day at HOH Academy focused on inspiring young people and students to pursue careers in healthcare.
The Aruba Healthcare Talent Development event welcomed participants to learn about various medical disciplines, including radiology, operating room procedures, dialysis, functional units, and rehabilitation. Visitors were also able to watch live demonstrations and tour hospital departments.
Health Minister Drs. Mervin Wyatt-Ras attended the Open Day, emphasizing the importance of attracting and developing local talent to build a strong and sustainable healthcare system.
Minister Wyatt-Ras stated, “Building a resilient and effective health system requires investment in our people. Initiatives like this Open Day play a key role in guiding and motivating future professionals, showing that the healthcare sector offers many opportunities for professional growth.”
The Aruba Healthcare Talent Development initiative supports the mission of the Ministry of Health, Social Affairs, Elderly Care, and Addiction Management to provide care for citizens at all stages of life, enhancing services to improve overall well-being.
This effort is also part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen healthcare through investment in education, prevention, and local talent development.
