ORANJESTAD (AAN) – A woman was injured Thursday afternoon following a traffic collision in Macuarima involving a Suzuki Vitara and a Hyundai Accent.
According to police, the Suzuki Vitara had reached the end of a side road but moved slightly too far into the intersection, striking the side of the Hyundai Accent. The impact caused the Hyundai to spin to an angle of nearly 90 degrees.
The female passenger seated on the side where the collision occurred sustained injuries. Paramedics treated her at the scene before transporting her to the hospital for further medical care.
Heavy traffic developed following the crash, prompting Chief Commissioner Ramon Arnhem to direct traffic manually until the damaged vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
