ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Traffic was disrupted Tuesday afternoon after a tour bus carrying visitors experienced a mechanical failure when one of its rear wheels detached during a sightseeing trip.

The driver was able to safely control the vehicle and bring it to a stop without reported injuries. The detached wheel assembly blocked one lane of the roadway, causing significant traffic congestion during the afternoon rush hour.

The tour company dispatched another bus to continue transporting the tourists while the disabled vehicle remained at the scene.

Motorists experienced delays as traffic slowed around the incident and many drivers reduced speed while passing the stranded bus.
