ORANJESTAD (AAN) – A tourist was urgently transported to a local hospital on Tuesday afternoon following an incident involving a waverunner. Local authorities dispatched police and an ambulance to the scene after receiving reports that an individual had fallen into the water.
While emergency units were traveling to the location, dispatch received further information indicating that the victim was being brought to the side of the water and that CPR might need to be initiated immediately.
Upon arrival, the patrol determined that the man had fallen from the waverunner but had not swallowed water, as he was wearing a safety vest at the time of the accident. Despite this, the ambulance team administered medication and performed CPR for a prolonged period until they were able to detect a pulse.
The patient was subsequently transported to the hospital with urgency. A short time later, hospital officials confirmed that the response provided by the team at the site was effective, praising the good work done during the initial emergency response.
