ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Police and emergency services responded to an incident Tuesday night involving a man walking dangerously along the Green Corridor. According to reports, motorists were forced to brake as the man walked in front of vehicles. Witnesses stated the man repeatedly fell onto the roadway and got back up, walking on the wrong side of the street and putting his life at risk.
Ambulance personnel were initially deployed to Wayaca after the man’s family reported that he had entered the bushes near the local ambulance post and was injured. Despite a search of the vicinity by responders, the individual could not be found at the reported location.
Shortly after the initial search, the man was located sleeping on a bench at a shop in Wayaca Falls. Police who arrived at the scene noted that the man had a head injury and appeared disoriented. Paramedics attempted to treat and calm the individual, identified as a patient under supervision. However, as he wanted to leave, authorities contacted his family to pick him up and take him to his destination.
