A serious traffic incident on a narrow road in Soledad escalated into a violent assault on New Year’s Day afternoon, according to police reports.

Authorities were initially alerted to what was believed to be a standard traffic accident. However, upon arrival, police discovered the situation was far more serious. The collision involved a blue Ford pickup truck towing a large boat and a white Ford Bronco.

The road in question is known for being extremely narrow, requiring drivers to slow down and give way to oncoming traffic. In this case, neither vehicle yielded, resulting in a strong collision.

Following the impact, the driver of the Ford pickup exited his vehicle and physically assaulted both occupants of the Ford Bronco. After the attack, the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

Police responded quickly, documenting the accident and assessing the significant material damage to both vehicles, as well as to the boat and trailer. Road service personnel were also called to assist.

Shortly afterward, the suspect returned to the scene, where police immediately arrested him. He was taken into custody and transported for questioning. What began as a traffic accident was officially upgraded to a case of aggravated assault.

One of the victims who sustained injuries from the assault was transported to the hospital by private vehicle for medical treatment.
