ORANJESTAD (AAN) – On Sunday morning, June 14, 2026, at approximately 5:40 AM, Aruba police were notified of a traffic accident in Sabana Liber involving a motorcycle. Patrol units and an ambulance were dispatched immediately.
Upon arrival, officers found a male motorcyclist in critical condition. The victim received urgent medical attention at the scene and was transported to the hospital ICU. Traffic specialists and forensic technicians investigated the scene, while victim assistance personnel provided support to the family.
Later, on Tuesday afternoon, hospital staff confirmed that the motorcyclist, Johan Fernando Vasquez Lopez, born March 10, 1993, in Colombia, had passed away. This marks Aruba’s seventh traffic-related death in 2026. The police express their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
