A group of Aruba educators marking 45 years since their graduation has made a donation to Muchila Creativo, a secondary school serving neurodiverse students.
Longtime classmates give back
The group includes retired teachers and members who are still working. They studied together at Academia Pedagogico Arubano and have maintained their friendship for 48 years under the name APA Friends For Life, or APAF4L.
Member Luis Rodulfo told 24ora that the educators chose to celebrate their graduation anniversary by supporting an educational organization. He said each member contributed to the gift.
School centers arts in secondary education
Muchila Creativo director Rose-Marie Provence described the organization as a secondary school for neurodiverse students between the ages of 12 and 25, with art at the center of its educational approach. She said students come from several schools and programs and that the organization relies heavily on donations.
The source did not state the value or contents of the Muchila Creativo donation. APAF4L members said future fundraising for other community organizations is an idea they may consider, but no additional project has been finalized.
