Stabbing Victim in Shiribana Refuses to Cooperate with Police or Accept Medical Assistance

Authorities are investigating a serious stabbing incident that occurred in Shiribana on New Year’s Day, after the victim refused to cooperate with police or accept medical assistance.

The incident took place shortly after 12:00 p.m., when police received reports of a violent assault near a residence known to law enforcement, located along the main road between Paradera and Tanki Leendert. Due to the area’s reputation for frequent disturbances and suspicious activity, multiple police units were dispatched immediately. Central Alarm was also notified, and an ambulance was sent to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from several stab wounds. While the injuries were described as serious, they were not immediately life-threatening. From the outset, however, the victim made it clear that he did not want medical treatment and refused to give a statement to police.

Paramedics assessed the victim on site, but despite their efforts, he continued to decline transport to the hospital and rejected further assistance.

Witness Accounts

According to witnesses, two individuals were targeted during the attack. A group of men arrived at the location in a small silver Kia Picanto and launched a violent assault. One of the victims managed to escape by fleeing into a nearby residence to hide, avoiding injury.

The second victim was less fortunate and sustained serious stab wounds during the attack.

Witnesses reported that the attackers were armed with a machete and other sharp objects. The group was described as consisting of four non-local individuals.

Police Investigation Ongoing

Police notified all relevant authorities and secured the area near the incident site, located below a house close to a key and lock business, to begin a formal investigation.

Despite the severity of the incident, the investigation is complicated by the victim’s continued refusal to accept medical care or provide information to authorities.

The case remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
