Pashentnan di Aruba, a nationwide patient-for-patient organization, is scheduled to launch in Oranjestad on Thursday, September 17, as part of World Patient Safety Day 2026.
Launch planned at the University of Aruba
According to an announcement reported by EA News, the SIKI Foundation will introduce the new organization during an event at the University of Aruba auditorium from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The initiative is led by SIKI president and legal expert Jayburtt Dijkhoff.
The announcement says the launch is intended to give patients a stronger role in Aruba’s healthcare system, with an emphasis on safety, information and participation in decisions about their care.
Free membership and patient experiences
Membership in Pashentnan di Aruba will be free and open to the community. The organization plans to collect patient experiences and testimony, use that information to identify recurring concerns, and bring those findings into discussions with healthcare providers and government.
Organizers said the University of Aruba venue was nearly full when the announcement was published, with 20 public spaces still available. Registration information was being shared through SIKI Aruba’s Facebook page.
