The Federacion Gimnastico Arubano recently conducted a special evaluation for athletes within its artistic selection program. This assessment was coordinated to coincide with the National and International Gymnastics Championship, allowing the federation to utilize the expertise of international judges present at the event. The primary focus of this evaluation is to identify the progress of the athletes and strengthen their development toward a higher level of competition.
Junior Rivero, Secretary of the Federacion Gimnastico Arubano, highlighted the importance of this past weekend, noting that the simultaneous development of the two championships provided a unique opportunity. The activities commenced on Friday with the official inauguration of the National Championship, followed by a second day of competition on Saturday. The action continued on Sunday with the International Championship, creating a highly competitive environment for local and international athletes.
According to Rivero, the combined events feature approximately 120 participating athletes. In addition to Aruban representatives, the competition includes delegations from Panama and Ecuador. During these championships, the federation organized a specific evaluation for the national artistic selection group. Rivero explained that the presence of international judges permitted a comprehensive technical analysis of the progress achieved by the athletes during the last season, reflecting their continuous work and dedication.
For the current season, the federation has also implemented the UPAG program, a system designed to determine the current level of each athlete and identify aspects that require improvement.
