SAN NICOLAS (AAN) – Emergency medical personnel responded Thursday morning after a detainee at the San Nicolas police holding facility was reportedly found unresponsive inside his cell.
Authorities stated that police requested an ambulance after officers noticed the 24-year-old detainee was not reacting while lying on a bed inside the detention area.
Upon arrival, ambulance personnel evaluated the situation and determined that the detainee required urgent medical attention.
The individual was immediately transported under police escort to the medical center in San Nicolas for further treatment and evaluation.
Officials have not yet released additional details regarding the detainee’s medical condition or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation into the situation remains ongoing.
