Minister of Health, Social Affairs, Senior Care, and Addiction Management Mervin Wyatt-Ras recently conducted a working visit to De SGR-Groep in Curaçao. The mission focused on strengthening knowledge exchange and exploring cooperation opportunities in specialized care and rehabilitation. Accompanied by the management team, including Director General Carlanne Emerenciana, the Minister toured various locations to gain insight into the daily support services offered to clients.
The comprehensive tour included stops at Revalidatiecentrum Curaçao (RCC), Curaçao Orthotics & Prosthetics (COP), Therapeutische Peutergroep (TPG), Zorgboerderij De Waarborg, and Kas Noord Zapateer Fase 2. A significant portion of the visit was dedicated to Fundashon Verriet, which houses 26 clients from Aruba. During the meeting, these clients presented Wyatt-Ras with a piece of artwork and a poetry presentation as a gesture of gratitude.
Minister Wyatt-Ras engaged directly with patients and staff, observing the treatments and recreational activities firsthand. She attended various daily activities, speaking with clients and personnel to see how guidance and treatments are applied in practice. This direct interaction provided a valuable perspective on the impact of services on daily life and well-being.
