ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Emergency services responded Tuesday evening after reports of a person in distress in the sea near Amsterdam Manor.
Police, ambulance personnel, and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers assisted the individual in getting out of the water safely.
When ambulance personnel arrived, the man declined medical assistance and walked away from the area. Authorities later determined that the individual has a history of mental health issues and that this was not the first time a similar incident had occurred.
Police warned the man that future incidents of this nature could result in further action being taken.
The situation was resolved without injuries, and emergency responders were able to secure the area after assisting the individual.
