ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Kiona S. Croes has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organization, Governance and Management (OGM) from the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Aruba after successfully defending her thesis on July 8, 2026.
Her research, titled “Invisible Barriers to Leadership: The Role of Imposter Syndrome in Shaping Women’s Leadership Experiences in Aruba,” explored how imposter syndrome affects women in leadership positions across Aruba.
Through interviews with 16 women leaders from the public, private and non-profit sectors, Croes examined how self-doubt interacts with workplace gender expectations, limited female representation in leadership and Aruba’s close-knit culture. The study highlights the need for structural solutions, including mentorship and workplace policies, to support women leaders.
Croes expressed gratitude to her supervisors, the OGM faculty and everyone at the University of Aruba who supported her throughout her academic journey.
