Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers has officially extended the KIA recruitment deadline for individuals wishing to join the Correctional Institution Aruba (KIA) as correctional trainees. The announcement was made during a press conference on Monday morning, offering interested candidates until Saturday, May 23, 2026, to submit their documents.
The Justice Ministry recently launched a recruitment campaign through social media and press notices to attract young people and other interested parties. While nearly 50 candidates have already applied, Dowers noted that reactions continued to arrive even after the initial cutoff. Consequently, the selection commission approved the extension to accommodate the ongoing interest.
Following the deadline, the selection process will begin, including medical and psychological assessments, physical fitness tests, and background checks. Minister Dowers emphasized that strengthening the correctional system is vital for ensuring security and professionalism within the justice sector.
Applicants must submit a motivation letter, copy of their diploma, two recent passport photos, a 5-florin Censo paper, and a CV. Documents can be delivered to the KIA education center, located behind the Police Station in Balashi, on Friday, May 22, or Saturday, May 23, between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
