Parliamentarian Jennifer Arends expressed satisfaction regarding the meetings of the Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultations (IPKO), highlighting the active participation of the countries and islands within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. She indicated that the presentations during the meeting allowed for an important exchange of information regarding the main challenges and progress of each territory, fostering an environment of collaboration and constructive dialogue.
During her address, Arends presented an overview of the current situation in Aruba with particular emphasis on the island’s financial aspects. The parliamentarian highlighted progress being realized in various priority areas for the country’s development, noting the considerable interest other participants showed in learning about Aruba’s progress and ongoing projects.
Among the topics discussed were initiatives related to education, housing construction, infrastructure development, and improvements to the medical care system. Other programs directed at the social and economic development of the island were also reviewed. According to Arends, these projects reflect the commitment of the government and its institutions to continue promoting the sustainable growth of Aruba.
The representative from Aruba stated that the response from participants was positive and that discussions took place in an atmosphere of respect and cooperation. She noted that colleagues from other delegations showed interest in the progress presented and valued the exchange of experiences between the different countries and territories of the Kingdom.
“We are extremely happy with how the meetings went. Everything went very positively, and there is excellent collaboration between the participants. The work environment resulted excellent, and this contributes to making this IPKO productive for everyone,” Arends stated at the conclusion of one of the sessions.
