AHATA Investigation Demand Leads Aruba News Headlines

ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA) reacted positively to NoticiaCla on Thursday regarding the decision of Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers to prohibit the use of e-steps and scooters on public roads, a measure that according to the tourism sector was urgent due to growing concerns about road safety.

AHATA Investigation Aruba: Hotel Sector Under Scrutiny

Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers will be a special guest tonight on the NoticiaCla LIVE program, where he will face direct questions from journalist Tito Laclé regarding, among other things, the abrupt decision to ban e-steps and scooters on public roads. The interview will be broadcast at 8:30 PM on NoticiaCla’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Aruba and Curaçao Show Economic Resilience

European Parliamentarian Visits Aruba

European Parliamentarian Mariëtte Maij visited Aruba and concluded that, although Arubans have European citizenship, in practice they do not have easy access to the rights that come with it. As an OCT (Overseas Countries and Territories) of the European Union, Aruba has access to European funds and programs, but obstacles such as bureaucracy, language, and lack of information limit their use.

DIMAS Processes 26,413 Admission Petitions

Daily, DIMAS processes and delivers a significant number of permits to clients who have correctly fulfilled all requirements. The Department of Integration, Management, and Admission of Foreigners (DIMAS) handled a total of 26,413 admission petitions in 2025. Of this total, 97.5% have been processed and either have a decision or an advice (positive or negative). This total also includes people who have received temporary admission to Aruba (VTA) to complete their final medical tests. Once DIMAS receives the final results of the medical tests, the final decision will be issued electronically. In fact, less than 3% remains to be processed for 2025, and DIMAS is working to address this backlog.
