Aruban band Honeypot has released a new single and music video titled “Toxic Love.” Honeypot Toxic Love is the group’s second new song of 2026 and the fourth track released from its forthcoming album, Straight Out The Caribbean.
Song addresses unhealthy relationships
Band member Chayo Tromp said the song focuses on an experience that can affect both women and men: feeling trapped in an unhealthy relationship. Its message encourages people not to remain victims or believe they have to stay in that situation.
The track begins softly and becomes more direct as it moves through its first three verses. Tromp wrote and arranged the song, which was produced by Honeypot and RD Music. Rekesh Dukaloo handled the mixdown, while the mastering was completed in San Francisco by Nico.
Video and live album are also in production
Rob Arismendi directed the accompanying music video. According to the band, the completed production follows the creative direction Honeypot intended for the song.
Honeypot also announced that a separate live album is being prepared from its performance at the Zwarte Cross Festival in Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands, at the end of July 2026. The recording is being mixed and its accompanying video is being edited for a future release.
The studio album Straight Out The Caribbean is scheduled for release in 2027. The band said additional projects are in development.
