Aruba is set to take part in the first Kingdom Summit, a two-day meeting intended to strengthen cooperation among the four autonomous countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Four governments will meet in Sint Maarten
The governments of Aruba, Curaçao, the Netherlands and Sint Maarten are scheduled to meet in Sint Maarten on November 17 and 18, 2026. The high-level Kingdom Summit is designed to give the four governments a more consistent forum for discussing shared priorities.
Each prime minister is expected to deliver a “State of the Nation” presentation covering the achievements and challenges of their country. The presentations will also identify policy areas where new or closer cooperation may be useful.
Summit aims for continuity and mutual support
Organizers say the Kingdom Summit should bring greater continuity and coherence to regular consultations among the governments. The approach emphasizes respect for each country’s position, recognition of their connections and a willingness to support one another.
Sint Maarten Prime Minister Dr. Luc Mercelina said his country looks forward to receiving delegations from Aruba, Curaçao and the Netherlands. He framed practical cooperation, while respecting differences among the countries, as a way to build a stronger and more future-ready Kingdom.
