Two motorcyclists sustained minor injuries early Monday morning following a collision near the area commonly referred to as the veld di Duracell. The Aruba Police Force (KPA) and ambulance services were dispatched to the location shortly after midnight following reports of a traffic accident involving personal injury.
Upon arrival, medical teams attended to the victims at the scene, treating them for abrasions on their legs and heads. While emergency services were administering aid, one of the motorcyclists objected to the presence of law enforcement. Police clarified that they are mandated to respond to all injury-related accidents, even those where the injuries appear to be minor, to ensure safety and proper procedure.
During the subsequent investigation, the rider claimed that they had been participating in a celebration for Haïti and were returning home. Police officers proceeded to inspect the vehicle’s documentation and discovered that the scooter’s papers were not in order. As a result of the irregularities found during the inspection, the authorities confiscated the motorcycle involved in the incident.
