Emilio Van der Linden lost his leg in a traffic accident on January 1, 2026, while traveling to work on his scooter. Following the tragic incident, Aruba Shriners Club stepped forward to offer assistance to Emilio and his family during a difficult period of recovery.
Through the support of Aruba Shriners Club, which operates under Araba Shriners Fort Myers, Emilio was given the opportunity to receive specialized medical treatment and a prosthetic device at one of the Shriners hospitals in the United States.
The initiative allows Emilio to travel to Houston, Texas, where he will be evaluated and treated by medical specialists. On Sunday morning, Emilio departed Aruba accompanied by his mother, Mayra Van der Linden, and his father, Emiliano “Chou” Van der Linden.
Emilio Receives New Hope Through Shriners Support thanks to the generosity of the organization, which is covering all expenses related to travel, accommodation, medical treatment, and rehabilitation. Four Shriners members from the United States also assisted in coordinating the trip and ensuring a smooth journey.
