On Tuesday, Minister Heyliger-Marten, responsible for Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transportation, and Telecommunications for St. Maarten, officially opened the DCALFA Conference 2026. Also present was Minister Boekhoudt from Curaçao, overseeing the Primary Sector.
Aruban representative Nathalie Maduro from Santa Rosa shared the latest achievements and developments of the alliance since its start in 2022, highlighting the progress of Aruba’s primary sector. Local farmers showcased their products, sharing expertise and sustainable practices with other participants and guests from the Netherlands. Jair Britten, Daryl Koolman, and Sherman Libiee were praised for their informative presentations.
The DCALFA Conference included dialogue, collaboration, field activities, and discussions focused on regulations, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and food security in the Dutch Caribbean. The goal is to support economic resilience, food security, sustainability, and long-term sector development.
