**Caya Grandi Merchants Express Confidence in City Center Revitalization**
ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Merchants in downtown Oranjestad are expressing renewed confidence following the government’s recent installation of the Taskforce ‘Convivencia: Safe and Humane City Centers’.
Elton Arends, a representative for OBIZ, stated that the commercial sector had long identified the need for urgent action regarding cleanliness and order in the area. He noted that the government’s initiative has fostered positive expectations and attracted growing investor interest in Caya Grandi. “In the coming years, we could see a completely different and renewed Caya Grandi,” Arends said.
Solanys Wever-Quintero, owner of Star Fashion, shared similar sentiments, stating that after years of effort, she sees concrete action being taken. “We see that there is real support. That gives us more confidence to continue working and investing in the area,” she commented.
Benchi Pick of La Moderna, a long-standing establishment in the area, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the community and authorities to improve the city center. The collective reaction marks a shift from concern to optimism as the taskforce works towards a cleaner and safer downtown area.
