Mary Joan Foundation is bringing Breast Cancer Screening Aruba neighborhoods with a new health initiative called “Chekeo den bo Bario” (Checkup in Your Neighborhood). The first edition is scheduled for April 25, 2026.
The program aims to make early detection of breast cancer more accessible by offering breast examinations within local communities across the island. By removing barriers such as transportation and cost, the foundation hopes to reach women who might otherwise skip routine screenings.
Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent forms of cancer affecting women in Aruba. Health organizations on the island have consistently emphasized the importance of regular checkups, as early detection significantly improves treatment outcomes and survival rates.
The Mary Joan Foundation has been active in breast cancer awareness and support in Aruba for years. This new community-based approach represents a shift from centralized screening events to neighborhood-level outreach, making it easier for residents to access preventive care close to home.
Details regarding specific neighborhood locations, screening times, and registration information for the April 25 edition are expected to be announced by the foundation in the coming days.
