ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba’s Bernhardstraat revitalization project continues to transform the entrance to San Nicolas, with two more homes receiving vibrant Caribbean-inspired colours as part of a community beautification initiative led by Prime Minister Mike Eman.

Homes at Bernhardstraat 152 and 154 were recently repainted with the help of volunteers from the Ministry of General Affairs, local residents, and private-sector supporters. The project aims to improve the neighbourhood’s appearance while strengthening community pride.

Resident Eric Godet, who has lived at Bernhardstraat 154 for more than 40 years, welcomed the initiative, saying the project gives the street the attention it deserves and encourages residents to work together to improve their community.

Ba-We Construction & Cleaning, led by Purcy Wirht, once again joined the initiative by providing volunteer support and assisting with the painting work, highlighting the collaboration between the private sector and the local community.

So far, 17 homes have been registered to participate in the revitalization programme. Prime Minister Mike Eman said the colourful Caribbean-style homes are helping create a warmer and more welcoming entrance to San Nicolas while contributing to a broader vision of improving quality of life and encouraging shared community responsibility.

Eman thanked the volunteers, residents, and businesses supporting the project and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen communities and enhance Aruba’s neighbourhoods.
