ORANJESTAD (AAN) – AVP member Ing. Carlos A. Bermudez has submitted official questions to Infrastructure Minister René Herdé regarding the deteriorating condition of the main road connecting the Super Food roundabout to the Palm Beach roundabout.
Bermudez said he decided to raise the issue after receiving numerous complaints from residents, motorists, and taxi drivers about the road’s poor condition.
According to Bermudez, the roadway has developed significant potholes, uneven asphalt, and visible signs of wear, creating safety concerns for drivers and reducing travel comfort. He noted that the route is one of Aruba’s busiest roads, making timely repairs a priority.
In his questions to the minister, Bermudez requested clarification on whether the ministry is aware of the road’s condition, what maintenance plans are in place, whether the road will be resurfaced, and when the work is expected to begin and be completed.
“Our road infrastructure must provide safety and confidence for every road user. When such an important road becomes a source of concern for drivers and residents, it is the government’s responsibility to respond quickly,” Bermudez said.
He expressed hope that the official questions would help accelerate a solution for the affected roadway.
