In June 2025, the Aruba Timeshare Association (ATSA) held an important lunch meeting at La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino, bringing together representatives from nearly all of Aruba’s vacation ownership properties. The meeting addressed crucial issues impacting Aruba’s tourism industry, including airlift capacity, airport improvements, tourism safety, and extensive resort renovations.

ATSA President, Sulaika Kelly, of Playa Linda Beach Resort, opened the session by welcoming attendees and presenting the meeting’s agenda. “These ongoing conversations with government entities are vital to ensuring Aruba remains competitive, secure, and ready for visitors,” said Kelly.

Led by Mary Joan Wardlaw, Customer Relationship Officer, and Jo-Anne Arends, Business Development Executive, both from Aruba Airport Authority NV, the presentation focused on:

  • Efforts to increase flight capacity

  • Enhancing customer experience

  • Modernizing Queen Beatrix International Airport to accommodate growing demand

These updates are part of Aruba’s broader strategy to improve tourism infrastructure, ensuring smoother arrivals and departures for both timeshare guests and leisure travelers.

Updates from Marriott Vacation Club

Pedro Vargas of Marriott Vacation Club shared an update on the Tourism Security Patrol Aruba (TSPA), a growing program aimed at enhancing visitor safety in the island’s top tourist areas. The TSPA is especially active between The Ritz-Carlton Aruba and Divi All-Inclusive, covering beaches and public walkways. The initiative reflects Aruba’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for vacationers.
