Two schools receive multisport structures
Aruba school sports have gained new facilities at Colegio Santa Filomena and Colegio Frère Bonifacius. According to 24ora, Education and Sports Minister Gerlien Croes announced and inaugurated the multisport structures as part of an initiative to strengthen sports infrastructure at schools.
Colegio Santa Filomena was the first school to receive a structure, followed by Colegio Frère Bonifacius. The installations can support activities including football and basketball.
More schools are expected to participate
Croes said the first two projects mark the beginning of a wider effort that is expected to reach more schools around Aruba. The goal is to give children more opportunities for movement, cooperation, and physical development during the school day.
Work continues on other school needs
At Colegio Frère Bonifacius, the ministry said work to address accommodation needs will continue alongside investment in student wellbeing. Croes said expanding access to sports can help children discover their abilities, strengthen confidence, and develop healthy habits.
