Aruban karting driver Christopher Arends is preparing to represent the island at the ROK Cup Superfinal at South Garda Karting in Italy after securing his place through a first-place finish at the Pan-American competition.
Pan-American victory opens the route to Italy
According to 24ora, entry to this international final requires a driver to win a race, a national series or a Pan-American event. Arends qualified through his Pan-American result and will now compete at the South Garda circuit.
Arends said his preparation has involved extensive track time with his Aruba-based team and mechanics. Their work has focused on repeatedly adjusting the kart’s setup in pursuit of stronger speed and consistency.
Strong international field expected
The driver expects to face competitors with world-championship experience as well as regional champions. He described the Italian final as a major target and said he hopes to add its trophy to the title he has already earned.
Arends also credited his team, family and supporters for the result. Before leaving for the competition, he thanked Lotto pa Deporte for travel support, Team Pasch for tuning assistance, Jardin for providing a venue, and friends and supporters across Aruba.
