Aruba marine consultations will present four proposed offshore protection scenarios at public sessions on October 28, October 29 and November 11, according to a 24ora report published October 28.
Three venues announced for public feedback
The sessions are scheduled for Teresita Center in San Nicolas on Wednesday, October 28; MFA Noord on Thursday, October 29; and MFA Paradera on Wednesday, November 11. Each runs from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
The Directorate of Nature and Environment, Aruba Conservation Foundation and Blue Marine Foundation are organizing the consultation. Participants can ask questions and provide feedback through a consultation survey.
Offshore scenarios are proposals, not final decisions
The current stage concerns offshore marine areas. Nearshore protection will be addressed separately through a longer process, the report says.
The four scenarios have not been adopted as final decisions, and the process has not reached the management-plan stage. The work follows consultations held between February and April and forms part of Aruba’s 30×30 biodiversity commitments.
Online participation is also planned
The announcement says an online survey will remain available through November 27, 2026, with participation details to be shared separately. It directs residents to Aruba 30×30’s social channels for further information.
