Aruba ATV talks have brought tour operators and conservation organisations together with Infrastructure Minister René Herdé to discuss balancing recreational activity with environmental protection, according to NoticiaCla’s November 6 report.
Stakeholders meet at the same table
The participants included tour-operator representatives, Aruba Birdlife Conservation, Dienst Natuur en Milieu and Aruba Conservation Foundation. The report describes this as the first meeting bringing all the stakeholders together in this discussion. It does not establish that no earlier separate consultations took place.
Further dialogue planned before decisions
According to the minister’s account, the meeting provided space for the parties to exchange views on coexistence between tourism activities and nature conservation. Herdé said discussions would continue at further meetings to build a common understanding before final decisions. The report does not announce a new ATV or UTV ban, a route map or an agreed regulatory settlement.
