ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Goldmine Run & Walk 2026 attracted approximately 1,100 participants to Bushiribana early Sunday morning for a popular off-road running and walking event along Aruba’s scenic coastline.
The seventh edition of the event was organized by Patrishi Sports Aruba and welcomed children, young people and adults for several different race distances.
The event has become popular among participants because the route offers an opportunity to enjoy one of Aruba’s beautiful sunrise settings while running or walking close to the coastline.
Goldmine Run & Walk 2026 Sells Out
Organizers reported that Goldmine Run & Walk 2026 sold out during the previous week, with approximately 1,100 participants arriving early Sunday morning to take part.
According to the organizers, participation was nearly 47 percent higher than the previous year’s event, showing significant growth in interest.
The main program included a 5K Run & Walk, giving adult and general participants an opportunity to complete the off-road route around the Bushiribana area.
Young athletes were also included through a 3K Youth Run.
For younger children, organizers offered four Kids Runs covering distances of 1.5 kilometers, 0.8 kilometers, 0.4 kilometers and 0.2 kilometers, with distances arranged for different age groups.
The variety of races allowed participants of several ages and fitness levels to be part of the event.
Sunrise Run Through Bushiribana
One of the attractions of the Goldmine Run & Walk 2026 route was its natural surroundings.
Participants had the opportunity to run and walk off-road while watching the sunrise near Aruba’s coastline, adding a distinctive island experience to the sporting event.
Bushiribana is closely associated with Aruba’s historic gold-mining period, and organizers incorporated that connection into an important part of the event: the finisher medal.
Special Goldmine-Themed Finisher Medal
Everyone who completed the event received a large Finisher Medal designed with details inspired by Aruba’s gold-mining history.
The medal was one of the highlights for participants and is considered by many runners and walkers to be a collector’s item.
Its detailed design was intended to make completing the race feel even more special while connecting the sporting event to the historic character of the Bushiribana area.
With around 1,100 people participating and attendance increasing considerably compared with last year, Goldmine Run & Walk 2026 marked another successful edition of the annual Aruba sporting event.
