ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruba altar servers from several parishes across the island recently gathered for a special Mass at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Santa Cruz.
More than 45 altar servers participated in the religious celebration, bringing together young people and church representatives from communities throughout Aruba.
The special Holy Sacrifice of the Mass provided an opportunity for altar servers to come together in faith, recognize their service to the Church and strengthen connections between different parishes.

Parishes From Across Aruba Represented
The gathering welcomed Aruba altar servers from several parishes across the island.
Participants attended from Dakota, Paradera, Noord, Brazil, Savaneta, Oranjestad and Santa Cruz.
Having altar servers from different areas together in one church created an opportunity for participants to meet others who perform the same important role within their own parish communities.
Organizers said they were especially pleased to see more than 45 altar servers participate in the Mass.
The turnout demonstrated the involvement of young people in parish life and the continued importance of altar service within Aruba’s Catholic community.
Recognizing Service Within the Church
Altar servers have an important role during Catholic Mass, assisting priests during religious services and helping ceremonies proceed in an organized and respectful manner.
For younger members of a parish, serving at the altar can also provide an opportunity to become more actively involved in church life and learn more about Catholic traditions.
The Santa Cruz gathering offered participants a moment to recognize that shared responsibility while celebrating together.
Events bringing Aruba altar servers from multiple parishes together can also strengthen cooperation and friendship between different Catholic communities on the island.
Organizers Express Gratitude
Grupo Hubenil San Dominico de Guzman thanked Pastoor Morrison, Pastoor Jairo, Brother Bradley, Seminarian Steve and all those who helped organize and support the special celebration.
The group also extended its appreciation to every altar server who attended from the different parishes.
With more than 45 participants gathered at the Immaculate Conception Parish, the Mass became both a religious celebration and an opportunity to recognize the commitment of young people who regularly serve their local churches.
The gathering of Aruba altar servers in Santa Cruz highlighted faith, service and unity while bringing together parish communities from across the island for a shared celebration.
