ORANJESTAD (AAN) – PM Mike Eman Meets Chinese Community for National Clean-Up Day as part of preparations for the upcoming “Dia Nacional pa Cuida Aruba” (National Day to Care for Aruba), encouraging greater participation from the island’s business community.
Prime Minister Mike Eman met with representatives of the Chinese community to discuss the important role businesses can play in protecting Aruba’s environment and supporting the nationwide clean-up initiative.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the value of business participation, noting that many entrepreneurs are an integral part of Aruba’s community and can make a meaningful contribution by helping care for the neighborhoods where they live, work, and operate.
Speaking on behalf of The New China Club, William Ng expressed the Chinese community’s commitment to participating in the initiative. He said Aruba is home to the community and that caring for public spaces is a way of giving back to the island that supports their daily lives.
According to Ng, the club will encourage families, community members, and local businesses to begin by cleaning the areas surrounding their own establishments. The organization also plans to identify additional locations across the island that require attention.
Ng added that the Chinese community is ready to take the lead and invited other businesses throughout Aruba to join the effort.
The Government said the Chinese community’s involvement demonstrates how the private sector can contribute to a shared national responsibility. By working together, businesses, organizations, and residents can help build a stronger culture of environmental stewardship and community pride.
The “Dia Nacional pa Cuida Aruba” will take place on July 25, inviting all citizens, businesses, and organizations to participate in activities aimed at preserving Aruba’s natural beauty and promoting a cleaner island for future generations.
