ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Marjory Bermudes Earns Bachelor’s Degree from University of Aruba after successfully completing a Bachelor of Organization, Governance and Management at the Faculty of Arts and Science.
On June 18, 2026, Marjory Chantal Bermudes received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Aruba. As part of her academic program, she completed a thesis examining the factors that influence employees’ understanding of labor rights in Aruba’s private and semi-public sectors.
Her research, titled “Labor Rights Awareness Among Employees in Aruba’s Private and Semi-Public Sectors,” explored how trade union involvement, education level, work experience, employment contracts, and employment sectors affect workers’ knowledge of their legal rights.
Bermudes said she hopes the findings will contribute to greater labor rights education while supporting policymakers and organizations in developing initiatives that strengthen worker protection across Aruba.
She expressed her gratitude to God for His guidance, wisdom, and blessings throughout her academic journey. Bermudes also thanked her family for their unwavering love, sacrifices, and support during her years of study.
She extended her appreciation to the faculty and lecturers at the University of Aruba for their academic guidance, knowledge, flexibility, and encouragement. In addition, she thanked the organizations that provided internship opportunities, as well as her supervisors and colleagues for supporting her professional development.
Bermudes also acknowledged the stakeholders, employees, and organizations that participated in her research and contributed to the data collection process, noting that their cooperation made the study possible.
Looking ahead, she hopes her research will serve as a foundation for further discussion, research, and action aimed at strengthening labor rights in Aruba. Bermudes said she is excited to begin the next chapter of her professional career while continuing to contribute to Aruba’s development.
