ORANJESTAD – PPA parliamentary leader Eduard Pieters has questioned why the Government of Aruba selected a private company for a waste management project instead of awarding the work to Serlimar.
Speaking in Parliament, Pieters argued that Serlimar, as Aruba’s national waste management company, could have benefited from the contract by strengthening its financial position, expanding its services and creating greater value for the country.
He said the government’s decision appears to contradict its stated commitment to strengthening state-owned enterprises and called for a clear explanation as to why Serlimar was excluded from the project.
