ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba has officially submitted its 2025 Annual Accounts to the Algemene Rekenkamer (General Audit Office), marking the first time the country’s financial reporting has been brought fully up to date.
Finance Minister Geoffrey Wever, accompanied by Department of Finance Director Derrick Werleman, presented the accounts as part of the government’s legal accountability process for public revenues and expenditures.
According to the government, the submission follows an intensive effort to eliminate years of reporting delays. During 2025, Aruba completed and submitted the annual accounts for 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, bringing the financial reporting cycle back on schedule.
The General Audit Office will now review the 2025 accounts to assess whether public funds were managed legally, efficiently and effectively before issuing its findings and recommendations.
Minister Wever said restoring timely financial reporting strengthens transparency, accountability and confidence in Aruba’s public finances.
