Parliamentarian Shailiny Tromp-Lee (MEP) has arrived in the Netherlands with the Aruban parliamentary delegation to participate in Tripartite meetings with colleagues from Curaçao and St. Maarten. These discussions are taking place prior to the start of the Interparlementair Koninkrijksoverleg (IPKO). The agenda for the delegation focuses on legal and structural topics, including the *Geschillenregeling* (Dispute Regulation) and the evaluation of the *Onderlinge Regeling* regarding the *Landspakket* reforms.
The *Onderlinge Regeling*, a Mutual Arrangement for Reform, entered into force in April 2023 between the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten. It was established to facilitate structural reforms required for liquidity support following the COVID-19 crisis, replacing the initial proposal for a Kingdom Law and a central governing body (COHO) to preserve country autonomy. An independent evaluation is set to take place in 2026.
According to Tromp-Lee, a lack of personnel and funds is blocking the implementation of reforms.
